Ruby's Red Kite
On Saturday, Ruby and her grandpa took her new red kite to the beach. The wind was strong, and the kite climbed high above the waves.
Suddenly, the knot slipped and the string came loose! The kite drifted away over the sand dunes. Ruby felt her eyes sting with tears.
Grandpa held her hand, and together they walked along the dunes. Behind a tall bush, they spotted something red. It was the kite, tangled but not broken. Ruby hugged it tightly.
"Next time," Grandpa smiled, "we'll tie a double knot."
