what StudyHop does
Everything school asks of them, in one app, for every subject from Kindy to Year 12.
Every topic, in short lessons
Each subject is an exercise book. Each topic is split into 6 to 10 short lessons that build on each other, from the basics to exam-style use. Lessons use worked examples, "try it" questions and 3 things to remember.
- 5–10 minutes each, read aloud on request
- The look and wording change with their year
- Lessons are checked before your child sees them

Checks, revision tests and reviews
A 5-question check follows every lesson and ticks it off. Before a test they can build their own revision test from the topics they've covered, with multiple choice, drag and drop, short answers and written responses.
- Mistakes come back as review questions at the right time
- Instant marking with an explanation
- "Got it", "Getting there" or "Worth another look" on every lesson
- Daily 10: ten quick questions a day from what they've learnt
- Smart quiz on any topic: every right answer makes the next one harder, every wrong one easier, until it finds their level
- Print any topic as a worksheet, with an answer page

Homework help, any time
Take a photo of a homework question, or type it, and StudyHop explains it step by step at their year level. Answers include graphs and diagrams, and they can ask follow-up questions or watch a short video explainer. They can also photograph their class notes or a worksheet and get the key points, flip cards and a quiz on exactly what their teacher covered.
- Works for every subject
- Explains the steps, not just the answer
- Save answers to come back to

NAPLAN, Selective, OC, competition-style and Year 12 practice
Practice papers in the style and format of the real thing, for every year that sits them. Written answers get marks and feedback against a marking guideline. Every topic also ends with an exam-style challenge and a timed topic test.
- NAPLAN-style: Years 3, 5, 7 and 9
- competition-style: Years 2 to 12
- Selective and OC mock tests: every section, in the real format and time
- Year 12 papers for your state: HSC, VCE, QCE, South Australian, WACE or TCE

Games for little ones, and teaching the buddy
Kindy to Year 2 learn through short games the buddy reads aloud, so no reading is needed. In Teach mode, any child explains an idea to their buddy and spots its mistakes, which is one of the best ways to really learn.
- Stickers and a garden that grows as they learn
- 15 buddies, each with their own voice
- Teach mode for Kindy to Year 4

See what's working
Questions answered, lessons done, time spent and how many they got right first time, week by week and subject by subject. Parents see the same for every child on the family page.
- Daily streaks
- Strong and weak topics at a glance
- A "practise my weakest topic" button
- A strengths-and-gaps map for every subject, with what's going up or down
- A weekly coach for parents: what to do, what to say, what to watch
- A progress report to print or save as PDF

A short video for every lesson
Each lesson comes with a narrated video that builds the idea step by step, with diagrams and worked examples. For younger children their own buddy presents it, in its own voice. Older students get a clear, calm presenter.
- Starts straight away, no waiting
- Captions, speed control and replay
- Then straight into the lesson
Mock tests that feel like the real thing
Selective and OC mock tests with every section in the real format and time, done back to back like the real test day, with a short break between sections. A new paper every week, the same for every student, so each child sees how they rank.
- “Better than 72% of StudyHop students” on every mock
- Exactly where marks were lost, with a 15-question drill on it
- A score chart over time, and a report for parents
A StudyHop report card every term
At the end of each term, children sit a timed term exam in Maths, English and Science (any of their subjects in Years 11 and 12). Then they get a report card that looks like a school one: an A to E grade for each subject, results topic by topic, a comment, and progress since last term.
- Printable, and on the parent page
- Shows how they compare with other students
- Points to the topics to work on next
60-second maths races
Adding, taking away, times tables, sharing and mixed races, sized to their year from Year 1. They race a real run by another child, just above their own best, and climb a weekly leaderboard for their year. It builds the quick number facts everything else needs.
- A new leaderboard every Monday
- Only their buddy's name and a number are shown, never their real name
- No chat or messages between children
- Brothers and sisters can challenge each other, each at their own level
- Race live: up to 4 kids at once, each lane moving as they answer
- Class live race for teachers: the board on the projector, kids join from their screens, podium at the end
- Family live race: brothers and sisters race at the same time, each at their own year
- A Speed tricks race: MAM, × 11, squares ending in 5 and more
A countdown to exam day
Pick the exam and its date: Selective, OC, NAPLAN, academic competitions, Year 11 and 12 exams or a school test. Each week StudyHop sets what to do, from practice papers under time to retests of anything they got under 70% a few days earlier, so it sticks.
- Test, check, practise, retest
- Time spent on every question, and which ones were rushed
- Scores over time and a rank in your state
Explanations in your home language
Lessons and tests stay in English, because that's how school tests them. But any explanation can be read in the language you speak at home with one tap, so parents can help too. The Sunday summary email comes in both.
- Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Arabic, Vietnamese, Punjabi, Hindi, Greek, Italian, Filipino, Spanish, Nepali, Korean and more
- Set once on the parent page for the whole family
Speed and number sense, a few minutes a day
The habits that make strong maths students everywhere: tables learnt well past 12, sums done in the head, clever shortcuts that are explained, not just memorised, and puzzles that make them think. All in one place.
- Speed tricks like MAM (any 2-digit times 2-digit in one line), each with a picture showing why it works
- Memory tricks for maths, chemistry, physics and biology: BODMAS, SOH CAH TOA (with a picture), the rainbow, V = IR, mitosis, Keep Change Flip, every group of the periodic table, the reactivity series and more, with the way it is taught in India alongside
- Mental 10: ten questions in your head, against the clock
- Tables to 20, squares to 30 and cubes to 15, with races and charts to print
- Puzzle of the week, olympiad style, with a leaderboard
- Maths stories: Aryabhata, Brahmagupta, Ramanujan, Gauss, Fibonacci, Katherine Johnson and more
- A practice book for every topic: 30 questions in 3 levels, ready to print
